MR cholangiography (MRC)
is a noninvasive, rapid means of evaluating the biliary tract
that, in many instances, may replace invasive procedures such
as diagnostic endoscopic retrograde cholangiography and percutaneous
transhepatic cholangiography. This article describes and illustrates
the MRC features of benign diseases of the biliary tract such
as choledocholithiasis; intrahepatic bile duct calculi; congenital
anomalies, including aberrant bile ducts and choledochal cysts;
postsurgical strictures; and strictures related to chronic pancreatitis.
